Kayakoy Ghost Town & Lycian Culture Sites on the Best Fethiye Tours

Many cruises dock in the port as it is a popular destination for Turkish and tourist holidaymakers. With sandy beaches and laid back locals, Fethiye private guided tours will put you at ease, and the locals are always on hand to help. In the 1950s an earthquake had a devastating effect. As a result, there are no high-rise buildings in the region; you will have the most spectacular views of the beautiful scenery that surround the city when on Fethiye tours.

This town was once thriving and had a mixed population of Turkish and Greek people who lived together for centuries. The 1923 Population Exchange changed everything! The Greek community moved to the Greek Islands; their homes were left there. Private guided tours from Fethiye of the old stone village are excellent. The town across the hillside and the houses are slowly decaying; it is a ghost town as no community has ever moved or lived in the homes since. The Taxiarchis Church is among the ruins, and it still stands and has some beautiful interior decoration.
