Tour Göbekli Tepe and the Remarkable place Where Civilisation began

There are substantial grounds to say that the most important archaeological discovery in the 21st century is the Göbekli Tepe meaning Potbelly Hill. The first thing is it dates back to 12 thousand years ago, and in other words, it’s 7 thousand years older than the Stonehenge and 4 thousand years older than the pyramids. More importantly, it is older than the human transition to settled life and contrary to the widely held view, it proves the existence of religious beliefs before the establishment of the first cities. With a Göbekli Tepe tour learn how the researchers at Göbekli Tepe shows that a religious class existed even at such early ages, a division of society into social classes took place well before the widely assumed dates, and perhaps the first agricultural activity may have been conducted in the region.  Read More...

Tour Göbekli Tepe and the Remarkable place Where Civilisation began

With Turkey tours to Göbekli Tepe see the site that is remarkable with the terrazzo flooring, the first patriarchal thought, and the first reliefs and statues of the Neolithic era. As a result, all this information has been added to the collective knowledge of humanity and into the history books. On the merits of its contribution to human history, Göbekli Tepe was inscribed to the UNESCO List of World Heritage as the "birthplace of civilisation".

While the discovery of Göbekli Tepe site took place in 1963, the first scientific excavation started in 1995 where the eventual findings added new pages to the history, changing long-standing assumptions. Instead of being used as a settlement, the area served religious purposes and contain several temples. With daily private tours to Göbekli Tepe see how it is not only the oldest centre of worship but the largest one. Even though six of those temples were unearthed to date, based on geomagnetic surveys, the total number of those magnificent structures is believed to be twenty, with all temples sharing a resemblance that made this entire region a centre of faith and pilgrimage in the Neolithic Age.

There are six-metre-tall stone pillars, carved with reliefs of animals, erected to form circles. Those carvings that maybe the earliest three-dimensional depictions of animals carved into stone are a testament to the artistic expertise of our ancestors. Professor Klaus Schmidt, who had run the excavation work in the site for 20 years, stated that the stone pillars represented human figures since some of them have carvings of hands and fingers.

Since unearthing the monumental structures, the site has attracted the attention of the world with many visitors taking a Göbekli Tepe tour from Istanbul, and many articles about it were published, and documentaries were produced. The BBC released a documentary, and The Guardian published an article, yet German weekly Der Spiegel published the most striking comments. The journal had an interesting suggestion: the Göbekli Tepe was the place where Adam and Eve settled after they were banished from the Garden of Eden. The Journal based its opinion on the coincidence that the land surrounding the Göbekli Tepe has been proven to be the place where wheat was cultivated for the first time, and the Bible says that Adam was the first to grow the wheat after he was banished. With tours of Göbekli Tepe, Turkey, see the magic that has been unearthed.
