Ölüdeniz is for sure one of the most photographed beaches on the Mediterranean, and no doubt you have seen it many times on the cover of a magazine. Ölüdeniz is a picturesque, charming resort on the southwest coast of Turkey in the Muğla province, on the Turquoise Coast. It’s known for its aqua-blue lagoon of Ölüdeniz Tabiat Park and the wide, soft white sandy Belcekız Beach. Overlooking the village is Babadağ Mountain, which is where Paragliders take a leap of faith and take to the sunny blue skies as its long been regarded as one of the world’s top spots to indulge in this sport. Ölüdeniz has one of Turkey‘s most famous beaches framed by a striking backdrop of pine forests and mountains which you can see on a tour of Ölüdeniz. Bask in the Sun With a Ölüdeniz Tour to the World Famous Blue Lagoon

Ölüdeniz is world famous for its shades of turquoise and aquamarine, is an official blue flag beach and is often rated among the top 5 beaches in the world by travellers and tourism journals alike. Head inland 2km to the north from Ölüdeniz where you will find the popular resorts and villages of Ovacık and Hisarönü. Ovacik is a friendly charming village which is spread out across the valley and offers peaceful residential living, with beautiful views and a charming village centre with many local amenities and many Olu Deniz excursions available. You can enjoy the mountains, fantastic beaches, walking, cycling, and water sports, off-road driving, paragliding, sailing, diving and so much more, all within the local area. The lively Hisaronu village centre is where you can go for a vibrant day or evening out if you wish to dance and enjoy live music pubs and clubs. You can also catch a Dolmus (minibus) to Fethiye city centre that is within 15 minutes and Calis beach within 10 minutes so as you can see the area of Ölüdeniz is well placed for Ölüdeniz sightseeing tours in the region.

The coastline with its many fabulous beaches from the main landmarks of Ölüdeniz, alongside the spectacular Babadag Mountain, which dominates the skyline with its towering peak and you can find a huge choice of hiking trails. However, there are a handful of genuinely exceptional ancient sites of immense archaeological importance close by with private tours of Ölüdeniz. The old city of Xanthos now is ranked as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and this Lycian city boasts grand remains, including a vast amphitheatre and various partial structures. Another amazing historical amphitheatre is located in nearby Patara, a further ancient city based alongside a sweeping beachfront. Ramblers should take a stroll along the famous Lucian Way, which is known as one of the world's best trails and is at its best in the spring or autumn when the heat of the midday sun is less intense.

If you’re a lover of nature, check out the Butterfly Valley, a remote beach and nature preserve tucked between the mountains. You’ll find boats where you can take Ölüdeniz boat tours and minibuses that will take you to this paradise straight from Ölüdeniz. If you’re a history buff, then go to the close by the ghost town of Kayaköy which is a must-see. Once a busy community of Muslims and Christians, the town was abandoned during the 1923 population exchange between Greece and Turkey. Today the beautiful homes, churches, and shops continue to stand in the sun, dilapidated but still filled with a certain air of mystery.
